Reclaiming a Biblical Worldview takes Humility to Test All Things

Everyone has a worldview, but relatively few people see their world through the eyes of the Bible, even among those who call themselves Christian.  

The Great Commission

Christian people across the world are well familiar with what we call “the Great Commission.”  Jesus, after his resurrection, just before he ascended into heaven, spoke these words to his disciples:

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matt 28:18-20  

Many pastors who avoid debatable or political/social topics, claim they are ‘just called to preach the gospel.’  Others avoid contemporary arguments in society by sticking to their preaching and teaching schedule. These seem to be noble practices to most Christians, but do you think it’s only fair that those who sit down to dine at the table of where they get their spiritual food each week have a responsibility to humbly challenge their spiritual teachers to address controversial topics that are relevant to the issues we all struggle with that are going on in our world today?

Will we Proclaim the truth even when lies are more popular?

 

Do you sometimes feel like you’re swimming upstream when you’re trying to go the right way … and so many are going the wrong way?

If liberty has any genuine meaning in our age of deception, it certainly carries the right to tell people the truth – even when they’ve been conditioned by their trusted teachers to think they don’t want to hear it.

The Lies We Must Battle with Modern Day Mind Control

In today’s upside-down world it has become more obvious, even to people with relatively low levels of common sense, that we all need spiritual discernment to sort through society’s battle field, filled with land mines of deception.

As a young adult believer, I remember discovering some shocking truths in the Bible. The only reason they were shocking is because I somehow grew up assuming the older good people around me operated according to what’s true. After all, who but the depraved scoundrels of the world could possibly believe in lies?

This was the point where God’s Spirit made one Bible verse particularly impactful on how I began to think about things. It’s a familiar passage in Romans 12.

The crossroads has become a precipice for this generation

When the crossroads of decision become a precipice demanding action, only the determined, ‘all in’ warrior overcomers have any hope of seeing God’s ultimate victory.

There are plenty of Scriptural parallels in God’s recorded history of His people to give us ample insights to the challenges of our generation today.  Like God’s gift to the sons of Issachar in first Chronicles 12:32, we desire to have the insight of “understanding the times, to know what Israel – or God’s people today – ought to do.”

In previous episodes of Reclaiming Your Legacy, we’ve seen plenty of encouraging insight the Bible gives us to ‘choose this day to serve God’ as Joshua admonished the successful generation of Israel after the conquest of Canaan.  His call is clear to be courageous warriors like David and his mighty men. We must be active watchmen on the wall for our generation as Ezekiel spells out so clearly. With our Lord’s help, we all must chose to courageously refuse to bow to lies. With the boldness of the Holy Spirit filling us, we can expose demonic deeds of darkness, rather than participate with those who have been deceived.

We are in a war. More people than ever are awaking to the reality of that.  And as we do, we realize there are key elements of warfare – especially spiritual warfare – that every soldier must be constantly attentive to. As Jesus trained his 12 and his 70, and his 120 disciples – learning to work in harmony with each other – so, He is training His modern-day warriors to seek God’s direction, to intercede, to boldly speak up… to cooperatively work together under the guidance of the Holy Spirit… to prayerfully and courageously pursue the expanding work of God’s Kingdom, against which the gates of hell cannot prevail.

Unmasking the COVID Plandemic

Who is commanded to do this? … Is any controversy exempt from this probe? … Remember the wisdom of Proverbs 18:17 “He who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.”

Equipping Soldiers in Wartime with Truth and Strategy

We’ve been praying fervently that God raise up a generation of warriors willing to fight in this historic battle against wicked forces. Those forces are operating through satanically inspired enemies of all that is good and Godly. And it takes all kinds of equipped and faithful soldiers to fight in the many fronts of this war.

Are you in yet? If you are, you better know why you fight. And it’s not about you. You know very well that soldiers are called into battle to defend the defenseless. If selfless courage doesn’t motivate you to fight the battle raging today, whether on your knees or with your strengths and skills, then you are simply accommodating the enemy by your slackness.

The war being fought in our world today has come out in the open. It’s come out in the open because the enemy has been emboldened. It’s a war between two kingdoms and we should know it better than most. Evil wickedness is on the rampage against God’s kingdom of truth and light.

Let Truth Guide Your Legacy Action Plan

How does truth fit into our deliberate action plan to reclaim our legacy?  I believe that we live in a generation that is struggling to rediscover the timeless reality that we all pass on a legacy.  The only real legacy we have to pass on to our children is a legacy of truth: Truth about life; truth about God; truth that we invest into their future to give them hope.

Rather than just living day to day for life’s fleeting pleasures, a legacy-minded man or woman deliberately considers life as a gift not to be wasted.  Don’t you think that the really important things of life are deliberately developed and ‘invested’ in the light of a multi-generational perspective?  This is what seems to be missing so often today.  If you are investing for a future dividend, it has to be invested beyond your own limited vision of what you can do now and in the near future.  It’s going to be invested in light of the next generation.
