Nissan – The ‘Month of Miracles’ – Especially the Miracle of Passover #354

In our modern society everyone knows that January First is the beginning of the New Year, Right? But what is really the beginning of the year, biblically speaking?

If you were to talk to a member of the Jewish community about their Rosh Hashanah, you would discover that holiday is the Hebrew name for the first day that begins every Jewish New Year in our Gregorian calendar month of September or October. It’s celebrated at the beginning of their month called Tishri, which is the seventh month according to the ancient Jewish religious calendar. So, that means that the month called Nisan (or Nissan.. ‘NEE-SAHN’) is the first month of the Biblical year. The month of Nisan is the very special time when the historic Feast of Passover is celebrated (it’s called Pesach in Jewish communities). Passover commemorates the Israelites’ exodus from slavery in ancient Egypt, about 3,500 years ago.

The Feast of Passover is the Biblical holy day for God’s people to celebrate the liberation of the Israelites from Egyptian slavery in the momentous event that portrays God’s redemptive power in the book of Exodus.

Resurrection of Jesus Christ – Fact or Fiction?

There’s no question that the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, with a body that can never die again (Ro 6:9) and has now been ‘transported’ to another non-earthly realm in heavenly places (Heb 1:3, 8:1), is the most fantastical part of true history that the world has ever known. It should be no small wonder to anyone that that fact became the reasonable justification for all humanity to reset our calendars so that we are now all living in the year of our Lord.. number 2025.  Think about that!  Shouldn’t the fact that most of the human family haven’t heard and don’t believe it yet .. compel all of us who claim to be Christ’s redeemed children .. to reconsider the reasons why we all have a mission to share with others the awesome hope for our own future resurrected and eternal life with our Savior (John 11:25-26)?

Spectacular Conspiracy being Exposed

Could you imagine how the enemy of humanity might possibly scheme to deceive the masses by employing professional institutions that were once trusted to be a friend?

If there exists one clearly understood fact about the devil, of which practically every true follower of Jesus is very aware, it’s his number one characteristic – he’s the master deceiver.  Revelation 12:7 identifies that serpent of old as “Satan, who deceives the whole world.” 

Can you imagine… tricking the whole world of humanity to almost universally believe in a lie?

Preparing for the Challenging Journey of a Lifetime

When facing monumental Change and trials ahead how are we to go?

When I was a young teen growing up, I found a book in my grandmother’s collection (she was an avid reader of good books and the Readers Digest). It was “Men to Match My Mountains,” by Irving Stone.

The cover of the book was a picture of the snow-covered Sierra Nevada Mountain range. In the foreground on the golden prairies below, was a small train of covered wagons… Those pioneers were facing the biggest obstacle of their months-long journey across America’s vast plains.

Men to Match My Mountains is a true historical masterpiece. It’s an unforgettable pageant of giants—men like John Sutter. His dream of paradise was shattered by the California Gold Rush. Brigham Young and the Mormons were extraordinary men too. They tamed the desert with Bible texts. Frontier America called for greatness …and got it. Nothing in history can match the stories of the pioneers who braved the challenges of the wilderness to bring our young nation to the shores of the Pacific Ocean.

Will You Leave a Legacy of Confidence in God and in His Word?

As I’ve studied Scripture for many years, I keep discovering truths that become very apparent the Devil hopes you don’t discover… and this especially applies to the book of Genesis.

Psalm 78 gives us a divine prescription for a lasting legacy of Godly descendants. It says: “We will not conceal from our children… (God’s instructions that our fathers have told us) …but tell to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and His strength and His wondrous works that He has done.” Ps 78:4.

And what’s the result? It goes on…

“That the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born, that they may arise and tell them to their children, that they should put their confidence in God and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments…” Ps 78:6, 7.

Perilous Times in exile for a lack of knowledge?

How do you restore a fallen country, culture, society?

Prayerful Education of Christians must begin with parents and pastors to restore a fallen country

Is there any doubt that we’re living in “perilous times?”

Proverbs 29:2 says:

“When the righteous are increased (or flourish in number and authority), the people rejoice; But when the wicked (man) rules, the people groan.”

Is it any wonder we’re hearing a lot of groaning these days?  And it’s not so much because of the ordinary stresses of life really, is it?  A lot of our complaining is the direct result of governing over-reach into the private affairs of citizens.  From where does corruption in political government come? Isn’t it from the infection of every nation or organization that is ruled by self-serving leaders?  But the policing part of the public government equation is increasingly necessary only because of the epidemic lack of Godly morality and self-control among the public at large. George Washington, John Adams and others insisted that those two things were absolutely essential for the preservation of our constitutional republic.

Meekness – What is the most important thing you have ever learned?

Yahveh’s prophet, Isaiah, declared “For My hand made all these things, thus all these things came into being declares the LORD … But to this one I will look, to him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.” Isaiah 66:2

When you think about taking a proactive change of direction to reclaim your legacy, what do you think is the most important thing that you’ve personally learned in your lifetime so far?  While you make the focus of your attention on having a positive influence on your own children and grandchildren – your next generation – what truth or idea have you discovered that is such a powerful influence on your own life that you’d have to include it among the very top dozen or so important things that you have ever learned in your life?

Reclaiming a Biblical Worldview takes Humility to Test All Things

Everyone has a worldview, but relatively few people see their world through the eyes of the Bible, even among those who call themselves Christian.  

The Great Commission

Christian people across the world are well familiar with what we call “the Great Commission.”  Jesus, after his resurrection, just before he ascended into heaven, spoke these words to his disciples:

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matt 28:18-20  

Many pastors who avoid debatable or political/social topics, claim they are ‘just called to preach the gospel.’  Others avoid contemporary arguments in society by sticking to their preaching and teaching schedule. These seem to be noble practices to most Christians, but do you think it’s only fair that those who sit down to dine at the table of where they get their spiritual food each week have a responsibility to humbly challenge their spiritual teachers to address controversial topics that are relevant to the issues we all struggle with that are going on in our world today?

The Most High God raises up kings and takes down kings

The entire world of humanity witnessed one of the most pivotal events in history on January 20th 2025.  That reality of what began to happen then was well-expressed in the opening remarks of Donald Trump’s first address to our nation, eight minutes after taking his oath of office as the 47th President of the United States of America.

TRUMP: “The golden age of America begins right now!” (applause) From this day forward, our country will flourish and be respected again all over the world. We will be the envy of every nation and we will not allow ourselves to be taken advantage of any longer. During every single day of the Trump administration, I will very simply put America first.

How can so many people be so easily deceived?

Have you been amazed at how so many people can be so easily deceived?  Even people who seem to be fairly even-tempered and practice common sense are surprising some of us when they reveal that they have bought into various common lies in today’s culture. It seems sometimes that many people have completely lost their minds. They’ve lost their ability to think… to reason… to discern what’s really true. So consequently, confusion prevails. And where confusion prevails you inevitably have a pandemic of fear. And when people are prone to fear they tend to make hasty and bad choices. And that only leads to more confusion plus a flood of hopelessness. They are set up to bow to a false authority, promising them deliverance and unable to deliver it, or they are prepared to hear good news that can change their lives for eternity.

Jesus predicted in two of the gospel accounts that “false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect” (Matthew 24:24, and Mark 13:22). When we see how effective the main stream media has been at persuading half the population of the entire world into the most spectacular deception in history, perhaps we can be more discerning.
