The confusion and uncertainty assaulting humanity worldwide today is being identified by many as an all-out strategy of destructive warfare from the Enemy of mankind himself. So, what is the ‘assignment’ God has for His people in the middle of such alarming chaos?
The 58th chapter of the prophet Isaiah declares clearly, Almighty God’s displeasure with the superficial, self-centered, and hypocritically empty religious rituals of His people. Instead, He desires a deeper and personally more authentic form of worship, defined by distinctive actions. And biblical worship – let’s not miss it – is a sacrificially devoted spiritual life-style, not just a weekly religious exercise.

Many pastors who avoid debatable or political/social topics, claim they are ‘just called to preach the gospel.’ Others avoid contemporary arguments in society by sticking to their preaching and teaching schedule. These seem to be noble practices to most Christians, but do you think it’s only fair that those who sit down to dine at the table of where they get their spiritual food each week have a responsibility to humbly challenge their spiritual teachers to address controversial topics that are relevant to the issues we all struggle with that are going on in our world today?

Americans were conditioned to not think for themselves. But that doesn’t mean it’s okay for truth-tellers to kick back.

When we wonder “why is all this evil upon our nation?” We can easily see that the general eradication of the godly influence of God’s people is because we have forsaken the commission of the Lord to be salt and light… to overcome evil with good… to expose the darkness of our own communities… to rescue those who are perishing because of the evil that is allowed to prevail. So, it isn’t a bad idea to pray about where you can be involved with the work God is doing through his soldiers who are courageous to do all they can to stand against the ‘gates of hell’ as only the Ekklesia is enabled by our risen Lord to do so.

Spiritual Warfare in a Corrupt Society

Critical times require critical thinking. The art of Biblical war absolutely hinges on knowing the patterns of God’s unchanging nature. The wisdom of those patterns are clear directions… but they’ve been obscured by teachings that have been labeled as “post-modern Christianity.” Remember God’s clear direction to Joshua? He was assigned the leadership of Israel’s armed and trained young men as they crossed the Jordan, preparing to conquer Canaan.

Strangers in a Foreign Land

An analogy that can help us see the bigger picture more clearly is to think of inviting people into your own home. Let’s say that you work hard and you have two spare bedrooms. Your refrigerator is full of food and though your budget is tight, you can pay your bills. Now let’s add a small family from another country to your household who lives in one of your spare rooms. They don’t speak your language. They eat your food, use your bathrooms, produce trash, and as they gradually learn English, they tell you that they want to bring more people into your home. What do you do? How long could you support them before your own economic resources are depleted and the stress and strain upon your home becomes unbearable? The truth is that we all practice border security at the home level.
Liberals are great at inviting illegals into other peoples’ homes and rewarding them with citizenship, catering to their language and culture, and granting them voting privileges – which are used to keep the leftists in power. They don’t really feel the effects of their decisions that impact others. After all, they’re in political control and can vote themselves raises, medical benefits, protection, and other such amenities. Liberals don’t feel the financial burden that a sudden onslaught of illegal immigrants brings to our economy and local regions, and how it takes away jobs from those who are legal citizens as well as puts a financial burden on infrastructure and services within our country.

Despite the dismal failure of our generation’s Christian leaders to teach us to disciple our own nation and amplify the knowledge and authority of God’s Holy Word in our current society, God is working behind the scenes. It appears that He is using the multi-faceted crisis whirling around us to inspire His true disciples to seek the face of God more fervently than ever. This is good.

Remember that Joshua’s conquering army 3500 years ago was commissioned by God to destroy the exceedingly wicked occupants of God’s promised land to Abraham. God would accomplish the victory, but the heirs of the promised land had to valiantly fight for every inch of it with their wholehearted personal commitment.
