How Should we be reliable Watchmen for others?

Christian Civilization is clearly in danger of being destroyed – but there’s hope

 “Thus says the Lord: ‘Stand in the ways and see and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls… Also I set watchmen over you, saying, ‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’.” Jeremiah 6:16-17

The key defining Bible passage about watchmen is Ezekiel 33. Read it. The concept is simple. Watchmen are appointed to watch out for the safety of others. It’s their duty. If nothing else, every Christian, especially heads of family, has someone else God wants them looking out for.

compass over mapToday’s world is filled with all sorts of deception.  Sharp discernment is required for those who really want to discover the things that are true.  If we don’t want truth we won’t search for it.  That’s why we need to be discerning. That takes a special level of heart and acuity to be able to do that in an honest way.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 says, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires…” (more…)

Our responsibility as Christians to be the salt of the earth and to overcome evil with good

 Does our responsibility as Christians to be the salt of the earth and to overcome evil with good – rather than being overcome by evil – mean that we should exercise Godly influence as our civic duty?

Stop to realize something absolutely unique in the history of the world!  In modern America we enjoy a liberty and level of trust in society that those in the Roman empire in Biblical times could not have imagined.

The Bible warns us to beware of mind-controlling influences in society

What are The Lies We Must Battle?

Colossians 2:8 says: “Beware, lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world and not after Christ.”

The beloved apostle John wrote in his first epistle: “We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.” (1 John 4:6)

This is why it’s imperative for thoughtful followers of Jesus Christ today to seriously take actions in keeping with the Biblical warning to “prove all things” (1 Thes 5:21).  Don’t just go along with the crowd and use the lame excuse that ‘everybody’s doing it.’

The term “Culture War” has become common in describing contemporary American life and politics.

Is it possible for a Biblically faithful culture to survive in this cultural war that has essentially determined the ways of thinking, living, and behaving in a post Christian society?

95 Reforms for Reformation, Then and Now
