Practical tips for overcoming deception in today's dark world
The Bible has a lot to say about avoiding deception and renewing our minds with the purity of truth and righteousness, which is a right standing with our Creator and Savior. In today’s world the person who truly wants to follow Jesus and be led by the Holy Spirit has a great challenge to sort out the influences in his life that can potentially be very dangerous. It takes prayerful work and spiritual discernment to make the best choices.

It’s no surprise to most adults in our society that a highly sophisticated culture of so-called “elitists” are manipulating many aspects of public perception. You can find some helpful notes about modern day mind-control in articles posted at ReclaimYourLegacy.com where we have brought our attention to the key verse in the Bible, warning believers to be highly alerted to the life-threatening dangers of mind-controlling deceptions that can easily draw us astray from the pathway of pure and undefiled faithfulness to our Lord Jesus Christ.
Colossians 2:8 says:
“Beware, lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after
the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world and not after Christ.”
John Thomas, of Health Impact News, has done a superb job of researching this battle for our minds and our bodies. His insights for all of us in today’s world give some reasons to take the warning of Colossians 2:8 much more seriously than many of us might have considered before. In today’s program I’ll be quoting much from his article titled – “The Battle for America’s Soul: Ways to Combat Mind Control.” http://healthimpactnews.com/2016/the-battle-for-americas-soul-ways-to-combat-mind-control/
The Pagan Left has dominated the Culture War in America far too long
“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ” (Colossians 2:8).
Did you know that Noah Webster, America’s Schoolmaster, said during our founding era, “…that the man who weakens or destroys the divine authority of the Bible may be accessory to all public disorders that society is doomed to suffer.”
The term “Culture War” has become common in describing contemporary American life and politics.
Is it possible for a Biblically faithful culture to survive in this cultural war that has essentially determined the ways of thinking, living, and behaving in a post Christian society?
I found some timely points discussed in Dr James Dobson’s book, Children at Risk:
Nothing short of a great Civil War of world views and values rages today throughout North America. It’s between Biblical traditions and pagan secularism. The two sides are as polar opposite as light and darkness. They are totally incompatible.
When the light doesn’t shine on the darkness to expose it, the darkness prevails. For at least three generations or more, the Christian western culture has retreated from society, allowing influential institutions to be directed by personalities with secular ideals. Beginning with organized churches, the public and private educational systems have led the advance of allowing Greek-minded enlightenment thinking to marginalize the Biblical Christian wisdom that founded America.
Secularism and paganism permeate every influential part of society: Science, Education, religion, Medicine, Industry, The Marketplace, Entertainment and Journalism. Unfortunately, most of the soldiers on the traditional Biblical side of the war are AWOL – absent without leave. Many of them don’t even recognize there’s a war on. And most of them have no idea what the enemy is doing to effectively anesthetize them and win the prize of this war. What is the prize? (more…)
The sad reality of how non-discerning people are led astray
Have you ever wondered why there is such a vicious and never-ending war being waged against God-made non-toxic food, wholesome natural supplements, and alternative forms of healthcare and disease prevention? Have you ever wondered why an equally intense war is directed against those who profess faith in Jesus Christ?
The Bible clearly warns us to beware of mind-controlling influences in society.

Have you ever wondered why believers who attempt to live their lives according to the words of Jesus and His apostles as recorded in the Bible are constantly ridiculed and called intolerant bigots, hate mongers, stupid, gullible, paranoid, arrogant, and extremists – the scourge of society? Have you ever wondered why those same kinds of derogatory words are applied to people who object to mandatory vaccination and those who insist on knowing what is in the food we eat? (more…)
Never Reject the Love of the Truth! by Dennis Petersen
You might wonder why a whole society seems to drift into a hardened rejection of the knowledge of God. Why do people who resist God seem to fall prey to deeper and deeper deceptions in so many areas of life?
What do you want?
Confidence in your purpose in life?
To be pleasing to your Creator?
Victory over destructive influences in life?
Character qualities that glorify God?

A wise man will hear and increase in learning and a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
Proverbs 1:5, 7
One of my best lessons I ever learned…
“My people are destroyed from a lack of knowledge.”
“Through knowledge the righteous are delivered.”
“… if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
What is the primary way that God gives His wisdom to those who ask of Him?
